Cloud and DevOps solutions
A product is only as reliable as the way it is released and restored. We set up the deployment, pipeline, backups and monitoring around your software, using the same approach we use to run YallaReady in production.
What we build
- Containerized deployments
- A Docker Compose stack with the database, API, web app and a reverse proxy that handles HTTPS. One server is often enough, and it keeps costs predictable.
- CI/CD pipelines
- On every push, GitHub Actions builds the code, type-checks it, runs unit and browser tests, builds the container images and deploys over SSH once everything passes.
- Releases you can undo
- A deploy script that takes a backup first, waits for the health check, and can roll back to the previous version with one command.
- Backups that are actually restorable
- Nightly database dumps that are verified, kept with a retention policy, optionally copied off-site, with a tested restore script.
- Monitoring without personal data
- Error tracking, a health endpoint that reports the running version, and structured logs that leave out IP addresses and tokens.
Technology we use
- Containers and delivery
- Docker, Docker Compose, GitHub Actions, CI/CD
- Servers and proxies
- Ubuntu, nginx, Caddy, Let's Encrypt
- Cloud
- AWS, Hetzner and other VPS providers, Cloudflare DNS
- Observability
- Sentry, Health checks, JSON logs
How we approach it
Match the infrastructure to the load
Most early products do not need Kubernetes. We start with the smallest setup that is safe, and write down what would trigger a move to something bigger.
Put every step in a script
Server setup, deploy, backup and restore are scripts in the repository, so the knowledge does not live in one person's head.
Separate staging from production
Changes are tried on a staging environment on its own domain before they reach customers.
From our own products
YallaReady runs on one Docker server with automatic HTTPS, a staging environment, nightly verified backups and a one-command rollback.
